    Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park is located in the north of Zimbabwe. Bordering Zambia, it includes the south bank and islands of the Zambezi river. The park covers an area of 2612 sq miles (6766 sq km). Since this broad plain area is full of lakes, it is best to visit when the water level decreases. The excellent time to have a safari in this Park is between October and July. During this period the concentration of wildlife appears near the pool of the floodplains. The pools are the home to Zimbabwe’s largest population of hippos and crocodiles. The major unique attraction for safari visitors is the ability to encounter wildlife from land and water.     Hwange National Park is considered the largest park in Zimbabwe. It occupies approximately 14650 sq kilometers in the northwest corner of the country. Most of the park is underlain by Kalahari Sands. Known as Zimbabwe’s packed National Park, it has several mammals and nearly hundreds of bird species. The major attractions of this Park are viewing and driving, fishing, wilderness trails, moonlight viewing, and platforms. The population of Cape wild dogs which are one of the larger surviving groupsise found in this Park.
